NATALIE DESSAY | Enchanting Legrand

World opera legend Natalie Dessay will perform in Latvia for the first time!

The greatest singer, whose art was applauded by Paris and Vienna, London and New York, will present the “Enchanting Legrand” program - "Charming Legrand" at the Dzintaru Concert Hall. This is more than a diva’s caprice – this is her love confession for her native France, genuine chanson, jazz and, of course, the legendary composer Michel Legrand, with whom they were friends for many years and recorded two albums, one of which became platinum in France. Moreover, Legrand himself noted that no one, like Natalie, could convey the feelings he invested when creating his songs.

Natalie Dessay's unique voice, pure, clear and active like a mountain stream, drove all opera admirers crazy all those years that the petite French woman shone on stage in the most difficult roles.  Her roles in the operas "The Magic Flute", "Tales of Hoffmann", “Lucia di Lamermoor" are part of the world cultural treasury, and the performances recognized as etalons.

The fantastic voice of Natalie Dessay, the divine melodies of Legrand in jazz arrangements of a real French quartet – the last days of summer in the Dzintaru concert hall will be the most beautiful and unforgettable!

Michel Legrand (1932-2019) was a French composer, pianist, arranger, conductor and singer. Three-time winner of the Oscar film Award, winner of five Grammy Awards and winner of the Golden Globe Award. He wrote more than two hundred songs and compositions for films, including: "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg", " The Thomas Crown Affair", "Sweet November", "Pool" and many others.
