Concert series PERSONALLY

A special event will be offered to the audience-beloved concert series Personally in 2021: the world-renowned opera singer Inga Kalna and virtuoso pianist Diāna Ketlere will present the duo's new music album Das Rosenband, which was recorded in the summer of 2020 in the recording studio of concert hall Great Amber in Liepāja.

The program of songs by Richard Strauss, Alfrēds Kalniņš and Jānis Mediņš, which has been awarded the Grand Music Award, is now featured in a new music album, but the romantic concert program will also be accompanied by an insight into the next project of the two artists. The program, which was created for the concert series Personally, will be brightened by romantic and nature-inspired pieces by Jean Sibelius, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.

“The whole program that we will perform for the audience in Liepāja is very uniform in style, song names feature many flowers and nature motifs, such as black roses, the dragonfly and snow by Sibelius, daisies and lilacs by Rachmaninoff or clouds by Rimsky-Korsakov,” soprano Inga Kalna describes the atmosphere and leading theme.

The album Das Rosenband is released under the National Sound Record Company Skani, supported by the State Culture Capital Foundation and the Ministry of Culture. International release date of the album: January 15, 2021.

As with all concerts of the concert series Personally, the concert audience will be able to meet both artists after the concert and have the opportunity to purchase the new music album prior to its official release and get the musicians’ autographs. Post-performance conversations are supported by Andrito Coffee Roastery, drinks experts Prike Latvia, and café Čello.
