25. Starptautiskais Ledus skulptūru festivāls Jelgavā

The 25th anniversary of the International Ice Sculpture Festival will occur in two places in Jelgava- Jānis Čakste Boulevard, Pasta Island, from the 2nd to the 4th of February.

This year 32 professional sculptors from 11 countries - Indonesia, Mongolia, Ukraine, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Lithuania, Argentina, Estonia, Latvia and Spain - will show their unique perspective on the “Treasures of the World” through ice sculpting. As part of the festival, 45 contest sculptures will be created while a total of more than 60 ice objects will be visible in the icy gallery.

On February 2nd the official festival opening ceremony will be held, and competition winners will be awarded. Visitors will be able to observe how ice transform into an actual work of art in exciting ice-sculpting duels. The band “TRIĀNAS PARKS” and “MUSIQQ” will take the stage and perform. The event area will be open from 6 pm to 10 pm.

Meanwhile, on the 3rd and 4th of February entrance to the festival will be open from 10 am until 10 pm. Both of these days, visitors will be able to observe how ice transform into an actual work of art in exciting ice-sculpting duels.

The first half day of February 3rd, ĀDOLFA ALUNĀNA JELGAVA THEATER, LIEPAJA TRAVELING CIRCUS “BEZTEMATA” and SIA “JOGITAS EVENTS” will entertain children with exciting play show and performances, AGENCY “BRAVISSIMO” will provide concert for little ones. However, in the evening, the local stars and Lithuanian musicians will take the stage - LATGALĪŠU REPS, AC/DC PROJECT (LITHUANIA) and AIJA ANDREJEVA. 

On February 4th, visitors will be greeted by play show, performances from JELGAVAS JAUNAIS THEATER, LIEPAJA TRAVELING CIRCUS “BEZTEMATA” and SIA “JOGITAS EVENTS”. The evening program will be provided by guests from Lithuania “JONIS” and popular Latvian musicians – PATRISHA and the band LABVĒLĪGAIS TIPS.

 

The International Ice Sculpture Festival is organized by the city of Jelgava and the institution "Kultūra", supported by the companies "Ramirent" and "Husqvarna".
