Cello trio "Melo-M" invite you to New Year's concerts at VEF Culture Palace.
On December 29 and 30, the annual New Year's concerts of the cello trio "Melo-M" will be held at the VEF Culture Palace, which have become a tradition of the group and will feature a specially designed concert program of winter melodies. The audience will also be delighted by the special concert guest - opera singer Sonora Vaice.
"Melo-M" New Year's concerts have been held since 2010, and each time a special concert program is created in their honor. The annual New Year's concert at the VEF Cultural Palace has become the biggest musical event of the year and it is a beautiful tradition that we have been observing for more than ten years now. We hope that for you, the listeners, attending these concerts has become something truly special, so - the meeting place must not be changed! See you at the VEF Palace of Culture in December!", says the group's artistic director Kārlis Auzāns.
In this year's program, you will hear a particularly wide repertoire: on both December 29 and 30, a selection of the most popular Christmas songs will be played: for example, «White Christmas», «Jingle bells», «Last Christmas», Latvian solstice melodies, music from the movie «Christmas in the Jungle» and other compositions appropriate for this holiday season. You will also hear world and Latvian rock music classics, film music and compositions composed by Kārļis Auzāns.
Sonora Vaice will perform arias from the operas of Giacomo Puccini and Giuseppe Verdi, "Carrie's Song" from Raymond Paul's musical "The Sad Story of Carrie", as well as other melodies in the mood of the Winter Solstice.
Cellists Kārlis Auzāns, Miķelis Dobičins and Jānis Pauls will perform at the "Melo-M" New Year's concerts, with Miķelis Vīte playing percussion instruments.
