The sunrise concert by the world-famous organist Iveta Apkalna on the seashore has become a tradition of Jurmala Festival. For two years in a row, the unusual event has gathered hundreds of listeners on Dzintari Beach and provided the unforgettable experience of enjoying music, the sounds of nature merging with the royal pillars of the organ and the wonderful play by Iveta Apkalna. This concert on the sun-filled Dzintari Beach will feature the majestic timeliness of music by Johann Sebastian Bach and the compositions of the American minimalist Philip Glass, in which we can hear the pulsating energy of life and the infinity of time. Entrance to this concert is free of charge.

Iveta Apkalna, Honorary Organist of Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie, is famous for being able to expand the horizons of organ music with her personality. This is also proven by the awards she has received: Iveta is the first award-winning organist to receive the Grammy analogue in classical music, the prestigious ECHO Klassik, as the best performer; she has also collaborated with the best composers and conductors nowadays, and has already published 15 albums in CD and DVD formats. 

Visitors of Jurmala Festival concerts will be required to present an interoperable certificate of vaccination or recovery from Covid-19, as well as personal ID. The rules also apply to children.
