Part I Original music by Edgars Cīrulis and Arta Jēkabsone. New music suite “Winter Portraits” for wind chamber ensembles, piano and two voices

Part II Christmas songs accompanied by the Orchestra "Riga"


In the first part of the concert, the original music of Jēkabsone and Cīrulis will be based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale "The Snow Queen", but it will not tell this story, but will delve into the images, creating imaginary musical portraits. 
In this musical story you will have the opportunity to hear the voices of Gustavs Melbārdis and Arta Jēkabsone, singing various melodic lines, fragments of a fairy tale, as well as the nuanced piano playing of Edgars Cīrulis. 
The musical story will be complemented by the timbre images of the various chamber ensembles of the Orchestra "Riga" under the direction of Valdis Butāns, which together will conjure an intimate, warm and cordial atmosphere.
