Programme: Arias by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and motets by Anton Bruckner

The sacred works of the famous Vienna classic Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart enchant with their simplicity and melodicity as well as their nimble virtuosity and infinite phrasing. The Austrian romantic Anton Bruckner’s music showcases a rich harmonic language, a strict polyphonic approach and significant volume in his works. While Mozart’s name brings to mind his operas, symphonies and concerto pieces, Bruckner is famous for his sacred choral music and his nine symphonies. The concert programme Ave Maria. Mozart and Bruckner’s Prayers will be a meeting point between the Latvian Radio Choir and conductor Sigvards Kļava, the currently Lithuania-based crystalline soprano Gunta Gelgote, and the organ master of many musical styles Kristīne Adamaite in their search of similarities and differences of both masters’ music in order to bless the audience with the wonderous sounds of these prayers
