“Southern Watercolours” – first performance of the programme

The latest programme of Raimonds Pauls and Latvian Radio Big Band focuses on the music of the Maestro composed during the 1960s.  It was a time when R. Pauls used a lot of jazz references - that he loves so much - in his music.  The title song is the suite “Southern Watercolours” that was recorded in 1965 by the Raimonds Pauls trio, with the participation of the Saxophone player Aleksandrs Piščikovs. The programme also features musical themes selected by the Maestro with the lyrics of Alfrēds Krūklis. All compositions included in the programme will be performed in new, vibrant arrangements.   The Vocalist Daumants Kalniņš will make the programme even more spectacular.
