Vestards Šimkus and Liepāja Symphony Orchestra

The creative collaboration between the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, conductor Atvars Lakstīgala and pianist Vestards Šimkus every time becomes an exciting art event. Performed by outstanding musicians the concert will feature the world-renowned Sergei Rachmaninov's Third Piano Concerto, which will give listeners an unforgettable feeling of spaciousness and sensual beauty. The world premiere of composer Kārlis Lācis' Latvian Symphony will create a special, unique feeling. The new work introduces Latvian folk song themes and ethnic motifs. History of Latvia, state-building and its centenary in the half-hour symphony are intertwined with the current flow of Latvian time.
