LENESONS AND FAIRYTALE CHARACTERS (in Latvian)

Conductor Artūrs GAILIS

Programme:

  • Music by Anatoly LYADOV and Nikolai RIMSKY-KORSAKOV

LeNeSOns the musical puppet is ready to get a little scared, and he is willing to take you along. We will enter a world of Russian fantasy music and first meet the symphonic fairytale characters of Anatoly Lyadov. First, the Kikimora – a nasty home sprite. She sleeps during the day, comes out of her hiding place in the night and turns the whole house upside down. Next, Baba Yaga – a lonely old lady in the middle of the forest. She lives in a house on a hen’s leg (or on pancakes), flies around in a mortar and is skilled in magic. We will also meet seafarer Rimsky-Korsakov’s heroes – a lightning-fast bumblebee and an impetuous golden rooster. What a magical, inspiring company!
