Chamber Hall’s series PERSONALLY
What music would Johann Sebastian Bach compose, if this extraordinary and gifted composer were alive today? We can only imagine, but it is clear that there is a close connection between his sometimes extremely multilayered notes and improvisations of contemporary jazz music.
The encounter on the same stage between the harpsichordist of the Swiss ancient music ensemble Les Passions de l`Ame, Grand Music Award winner Ieva Saliete and the award-winning jazz guitarist Matīss Čudars is not accidental. It will be a conversation in sounds across the ages and borders, sometimes leading to astonishment of Bach's bold and surprisingly free searches of expression for musical thoughts, which quite often coincide with the spiritual desires of a modern man for the once-beautiful and elusive. Inspired by Bach's preludes and fantasies, played by Ieva Saliete, reflections of Bach by Matīss Čudars will be born on the guitar - the queen of string instruments of the 21st century.
Typical to the Chamber Hall series PERSONALLY - meeting with the musicians after the concert, for a chance to enjoy conversations in an informal atmosphere with a cup of coffee from the sponsor "Andrito Kafijas Grauzdētava".
