Closing of the Liepaja Art Forum. Concert dedicated to Hardijs Lediņš

At the end of 2015, the "Year of Hardijs Lediņš", announced and organised by the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Arts, came to an end with the concert "Kuncendorfs un Osendovskis". In 2019, the spectacular concert programme returns with new power to make a grand finale of the Liepaja Art Forum at the “Great Amber” concert hall. At the centre of attention - orchestra version of the album “Kuncendorfs un Osendovskis” by “NSRD” or “Nebijušu sajūtu restaurēšanas darbnīcas”! Its author, Platons Buravickis, is one of the most prominent Latvian composers of the new generation - unpredictable and explosive in his creative expressions, he creates stylistically diverse and surprising works and has become known as a specialist in "aggressive beauty".

“Kuncendorfs un Osendovskis” is one of the brightest examples of Latvian avant-garde music, where the experimental sound handwriting of Hārdijs Lediņš combines with the text of Juris Boiko, developing a philosophical story of Alfred, Julia, a man with a cigarette, a mythical place of China and other wandering characters. The album was recorded in 1984 at home recording studios in Bānūži and Pārdaugava, and in 1985 was produced by Ingus Baušķenieks. In a way, the transfer of "Kuncendorf un Osendovskis" into the "hands of academics" continues the ironic yet brave application of the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art - to canonise Hārdijs Lediņš, highlighting the timeless nature of his personality and creative work that is able to transform and be up to date even now. Just like in the premiere, the score of Buravickis is played by the State Chamber Orchestra Sinfonietta Rīga under the supervision of Normunds Šnē and two soloists - music journalist Orests Silabriedis and former member of "NSRD" Inguna Rubene.

The premiere of the concert was implemented in 2015, within the framework of the project "The year of Hārdijs Lediņš" by the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art.
