LNSO, MOZART, AND TCHAIKOVSKY’S FIFTH

Mārtiņš CIRCENIS – clarinet

Conductor Fuad IBRAHIMOV

Programme:

  • Wolfgang Amadeus MOZART Clarinet Concerto
  • Pyotr TCHAIKOVSKY Symphony no. 5

The young maestro Fuad Ibrahimov astonished everyone with his bright musicality and oriental passion in the 2018 Svetlanov Competition in Paris, a high-class contest for world’s top conducting talents. Fuad had already accumulated considerable experience in conducting Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra and directing the Baku Chamber Orchestra and Munich’s New Philharmonic Orchestra. His talent is best known in his native Azerbaijan, as well as England, France, and Germany. Now, Latvia will know him, too. The programme includes Tchaikovsky’s Symphony no. 5 with its unforgettable, timeless French horn solo, and Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto that is so full of beauty that it would easily suffice for five more concertos. Solo by LNSO’s principal clarinet Mārtiņš Circenis – the best of the best when it comes to conjuring romantically saturated cantilenas.
