Senās mūzikas festivāls. Koncerts bērniem Salātlapiņa

Concert for children “A tale of Salad Leaf and the Prince”

The Children’s concerts of the Early Music festival are beloved and impatiently awaited by the youngest audiences. In the Rundāle Palace White hall, the simple tale unexpectedly turns into an exciting and adventure-filled journey that always features a prince or princess or an evil witch and a kind wizard.
¬¬The Brothers Grimm musical tale about the girl Salad Leaf that the Evil Witch has locked away in a tower will definitely see the arrival of the good Prince. Overcoming obstacles and defeating the bad, he will release the beautiful girl. In this extraordinary tale, the prince will be accompanied by music that historical composers have presented to English monarchs; the stage will have both bagpipes, oboes, and flutes, as well as a harpsichord that used to be a must-have for every royal lady’s boudoir. The musical story of Salad Leaf will be revealed through the crystalline soprano of Jolanta Strikaite-Lapiņa, the in the role of the Prince we will hear the dreamer and soloist of the Latvian band The Sound Poets Jānis Aišpurs, and the feisty character of the Witch will be presented by the experienced opera soloist Sonora Vaice. The production will be complemented by the voices of soloists from the Latvian Radio Choir as well as students from the NMV Riga Choreography School.
