Latvian Music Academy Symphony Orchestra season opening

At the end of September Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Music Academy invites all music lovers to the Symphony orchestra season opening concerts. On September 27th at 19:00, thanks to support of the State Culture Capital Foundation, the orchestra together with the academy mixed choir will perform at the Valka Culture House, and the next day, on September 28th, at 18:00 will perform at the Academy Great Hall. The program, guided by the new artistic director and conductor of the orchestra Kaspars Adamsons, will feature an overture to an Oberon opera by Carl Maria von Weber, One more opera by Weber for a clarinet and an orchestra by Pēteris Plakidis (soloist – a student Laima Ratniece-Miltiņa), Magna opera Domini by Juris Karlsons for soloists, choir and orchestra, as well as Fantasia in C minor by Ludwig van Beethoven for a piano, choir and orchestra – solo by one of the most talented and charming modern Latvian pianists Andrejs Osokins.
