Liepaja Art Forum: Forest Songs. Concert performance for families

“Meža dziesmas” (Forest Song) is a programme, where children and their parents are involved from the moment of entering the concert hall. Before the concert, a stamp of the "White Wolf Trio" is pressed on the children's hands, certifying the symbolic affiliation of the children to the "Brotherhood of the White Wolf"; the posters of the concert are drawings which children are invited to colour during the concert, recording the mood-set of their imagination during a particular performance. Continuing their cooperation, musicians will involve listeners in guessing the music of Jānis Baltvilks, as well as singing songs.

"White Wolf Trio" was founded in August 2016, and after a successful performance in the "Jānis Baltvilks Awards" in 2017, the decision was made to create a qualitative full-length concert programme for children and adolescents. The children’s song cycle "Forest Songs" was created, which reflects the main ideas of Baltvilks' poetry - a heartfelt love for the environment, goodness, sensuality and respect.  

In cooperation with the artist and designer Madara Krieviņa, the visual identity of the concert was made; but Madara Botmane (Graduate of the Art of Fashion programme of the Art Academy of Latvia) has created costumes, tailored for "Forest Songs".

Events at the concert hall meant for children are free of charge for children under the age of 2 (without separate seating). For children older than the age of 2, a ticket must be purchased.

All-inclusive festival tickets to the event are available for purchase. These will grant a person the possibility to visit all the events of the forum for a more favourable price. When entering the venue, the all-inclusive festival ticket will be swapped for a general entrance pass for all the events.  No discounts are applicable.
