Goran Bregovic - worldwide star, one of the most internationally known and admired musicians and composer, originally from the former Yugoslavia. For a wider audience he is well known as an author of the music for the movies directed by Emir Kusturica. Music by Bregovic is a combination of fiery Balkan rhythm and gypsy motives together with a play of wind instruments saturated with contemporary base and beats. Thanks to his talent, artistry and charisma, Bregovic is attracting listeners all over the world – performing on the stage as if carelessly, demonstrating unspeakable magic of his music and creating associations with the gypsy ethnos and Balkan traditions making all listeners to dance – adults and children, irrespective of their age, status and nationality.
The concert schedule of Goran Bregovic is filled for years ahead. In Latvia the artist is a rare guest, however four years ago he already performed for the festival’s "Summertime – Inese Galante & Friends" 10-year anniversary, earning a recognition and love accompanied with ovations from Jurmala’s audience. G. Bregovic’s performance will therefore be a pleasure for musician’s talent admires.
