The musicians describe it as insomnious state when thoughts travel to new lands
on the border between wakefulness and dreams. The programme comprises
Schumann’s insanity, Widmann’s fever, Zemzaris’s sketch of a relationship, nocturnal
conversations with Plakidis, Shchedrin’s merriment upon greeting the
dawn, and Einfelde’s heavy old Elephant of Slumber which is standing in front of
the window and might not be an elephant at all, and all the figuring is futile.
