The concert is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Eleonora Testeļeca –
a fiery cellist and phenomenal pedagogue. The programme includes the
professor’s beloved Schelomo by Bloch, solo by LNSO’s principal cellist Diana
Ozoliņa. You will also hear the poignant, Ivanovs’s moving concerto with
Ēriks Kiršfelds, and a concerto by igneous Bulgarian composer Tabakova with
Kristīne Blaumane. Rumour has it, there will also be a piece for a cello choir,
written specifically for the concert.
