Giacomo Puccini’s masterpiece Toska returns to the stage of the Latvian National Opera. In the production of the director Dmitry Bertman the passion between opera diva Toska and artist Cavaradossi resonates in the gorgeous interiors of Rome. Luxurious premises have become also a background for the peripetias and denouement of the relationship between Toska and Baron Scarpia, the chief of the secret police, that culminates in Toska’s subconscios in the last act.
