Favorite women of Russian writers (Griboedov, Tyutchev, Kuprin, Bunin)
Discussing the life of writers can be no less interesting than discussing their books. Especially when we talk about love, that led to death or was reflected in books which everyone remembers from school. During the lecture we will talk about the relationship between Russian writers and their women: Griboedov and Nina Chavchavadze, Tyutchev and Elena Denisieva, Bunin and Vera Muromtseva, Kuprin and Elizabeth Heinrich.
These relations were very different: Griboedov idolized his wife, but Bunin was indifferent to his wife over the years; Kuprin used Heinrich’s love to him all his life, but Tyutchev could not choose between his legal wife and his passion to Denisieva. The lecture will become a detailed illustration of the famous French proverb: «The intimacy with a woman is delightful, but her presence is unbearable.»
The program includes performance of musical masterpieces of Beethoven, Rachmaninov and Griboedov.
