The Pettman Ensemble is a flexible touring group of musicians from New Zealand and Australia dedicated to performing chamber music from early classical repertoire to music of today.

The ensemble was formed by cellist and Pettman National Junior Academy Artistic Director Edith Salzmann in 2015. Previous tours took the Pettman Ensemble to the UK, Germany, Spain, Australia and New Zealand.  The Thoroughly Good Blog of Classical Music reviewed a Pettman Ensemble performance at St. John's Smith Square and called it:  “a ravishing treat”, adding that “Schumann’s Piano Quintet was a glorious ebullient affair throughout”.   The Ensemble was featured on the BBC website and in Radio 3’s InTune series.

In 2019, the Pettman Ensemble started an exciting recording project for the Naxos label: The first ever recording of Johann Nepomuk Hummel's arrangements of the Beethoven Symphonies is well underway, with the Pastoral Symphony and the 2nd Symphony scheduled for release in 2020. This year's tour to the UK, Latvia and Australia will feature these interesting works as well as various trio and duo combinations.
