NATIONAL CELEBRATION CONCERT LATVIA 101

At the National Celebration Concert, the most beautiful pieces by Latvian music classicists Jāzeps Vītols, Jānis Mediņš, Emīls Dārziņš and other beloved composers will entwine in red-white-red colours, to congratulate Latvia on its 101st birthday. Starting a new tradition at Great Amber concert hall, Liepaja Symphony Orchestra will be joined on stage by Liepaja's choirs "INTIS" and "Laiks", as well as the leading soloists of the Latvian National Opera. From "Treasures" by Vītols to "Melancholy Waltz" by Dārziņš and other beautiful pieces of modern Latvian composers - the concert programme will embody the power of a free country and Latvian spirit like bright amber.

Alongside the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra, led by conductor Jānis Liepiņš, the most beautiful arias, composed by Latvian composers, will be performed by the magnificent soloist of the Latvian National Opera Inga Šļubovska-Kancēviča. She will be joined by one of the leading soloists of the Latvian National Opera Raimonds Bramanis. The new talents of Liepājas Secondary School of Music, Art and Design will complement the experienced soloists by symbolically bringing together the current and future forces of Latvia in one concert. In patriotic festivities, this grand vocal-symphony concert will allow the audience to experience the excellent acoustic sound of the Liepaja concert hall.
