Wagnerians rejoice – Andris Poga finally dives into the waves of vocal-symphonic love to celebrate Tristan and Isolde’s story about their desperate yearning for an impossible relationship. With outstanding soloists: Swedish singer Iréne Theorin, popular in Latvia and abroad; one of the most sought-after Wagnerian tenors Corby Welch, and our own singer of Wagner, Egils Siliņš. We will also hear Liebestod, beautiful beyond compare (how could we do without it?), and the musicians will warm up with Jean Sibelius’ genius, laconic Symphony no. 7 that metaphysically stands beyond analysis and understanding.
