Having met at the master-class of British director Katie Mitchell in South of France, Latvian director Viesturs Meikšāns, British composer Oliver Christophe Leith and German dramaturg Kornelius Paede agreed to work on a new original opera about the moment of transition from Anthropocene to Post-anthropocene, sharing historical, personal and artistic commentary on how civilisation has reached this point.
“This opera draws inspiration from personal experiences, scientific research, TV series and natural disasters alike and reflects upon the times when human impact on global climate has reached dramatic scale and consequences”, Viesturs Meikšāns.

International Festival of Contemporary Theatre "Homo Novus" is the leading performing arts festival in Latvia and one of the biggest in the Baltic region.
