STRAVINSKY S SEMPITERNITY

22 FEBRUARY AT 19.00, THE GREAT GUILD
STRAVINSKY’S SEMPITERNITY

Conductor – GUNTIS KUZMA

Programme:
Igor Stravinsky Petrushka

Petrushka (also known as Punch, Pulcinella, Kasperle) loves the Ballerina, but she fancies the Moor. Petrushka has his own chord, the Ballerina has her ballet shoes, and the Moor has a turban. The Moor kills Petrushka with a curved sword. Petrushka’s spirit appears on the top of the puppet theatre and scares Charlatan, the puppet owner. The audience has no idea which part is real and which isn’t.
