The performance, in which Chulpan Khamatova is returning in a Latvian stage version of the 1998 film "Country of the Deaf" by Valery Todorovsky, for which she became famous in her time as an actress.
Based on the novel by Renata Litvinova (who left Russia after the outbreak of the war, denounced the aggression and now lives in Paris), the story of the deaf mafia in Moscow takes on a new meaning in today's context.
