Liepaja Gourmet Tasting Experience with Lauris Aleksejevs

Our next “Liepāja Gourmet” tasting experience will be on Saturday 23/10 at Art Hotel Roma.
Lauris Alekseyev (36. līnija) will present his food philosophy in a 7-course tasting menu with the theme 'When seaside meets river, field, and forest'.
His 36. Line Grill Restaurant has been rated as one of the must-go-to restaurants in Latvia. Established in 2008, the restaurant prides itself on its high-quality food service. Initially, 36. Line Grill Restaurant was located in a quiet area of resort town Jūrmala on the coast of Baltic Sea. But in January the establishment changed its location and moved closer to the city center – to Dubulti. The food, service and atmosphere have remained top-notch as are the settings and the panoramic view of the most beautiful sunsets by the sea.
The restaurant has been renowned for its cuisine and restaurant chef and owner Lauris Aleksejevs, who is one of the most celebrated chefs in the country.
But many don’t know that, in fact, before joining the restaurant business Aleksejevs studied in a specialized music school to become a choir conductor.
But he didn’t succeed, instead, he went to study at the Trade and Culinary School of Riga and train for a career as a chef.
After gaining experience across many different types of world cuisines, including hotels, ships, restaurants, and cafes, the biggest challenge and turning point his career came in 2008: Aleksejevs opened a restaurant in the dunes next to the Baltic Sea.
Having invested all his time, energy and knowledge, 36. Line Grill Restaurant was brought to life. Today, hard work and thousands of great ideas have really paid off. From a small wooden restaurant with a team of six people, the place has grown into an award-winning restaurant in Dubulti with a separate banquet venue and various catering services besides the restaurant.
