This is the second autumn of the Latvian Radio Big Band and Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music organizing the Big Band Composition Contest for Young Baltic Composers, inviting participants to create original compositions for jazz orchestra. This year, they shall resound through the voice of baritone Daumants Kalniņš, letting audiences explore the Baltic jazz scene with its styles and ways of expression. This concert will present the best of the submitted pieces, with the winner being announced after it.
