Tarmo Peltokoski is a name to remember – he is making waves in Finland and abroad, both as a masterful pianist who has performed with almost all leading Finnish orchestras, and as a rising star in conducting and laureate of international competitions. Moreover, Peltokoski is a composer, an excellent improviser, and a passionate musical theatre actor. In his first joint performance with the LNSO, Tarmo will conduct Wagner’s majestic overture to Tannhäuser and the thrilling First Symphony by his compatriot Sibelius. The third masterpiece of the programme is Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto no. 2 of almost unrivalled beauty that will be played by the virtuoso soloist from London beloved by Latvian audiences Anton Lyakhovsky.
