Human emotions and feelings exist in isolation and often require no special external circumstances. An isolated feeling may become a revelation, a revelation may turn into a conviction, and a conviction may evolve into a manifesto. A manifesto, however, cannot exist without an invitation or an opportunity to be expressed and heard.

Artists are creators of manifestos, and their desire to show their creations and concepts seems to be encoded. This desire means tearing through the isolation of silence and releasing the manifesto contained in artworks to enter a conversation with others, because these is a chance, as there definitely should be, that this visual narrative or concept will be understood by someone, familiar and recognizable, pushing them to feel, think and relate.

The conceptual exhibition Isolation, compiled by curator and art theorist Astrīda Rogule, consists of works created by five brilliant contemporary Latvian masters of visual arts – Leonards Laganovskis, Juris Artūrs Putrāms, Krišs Salmanis, Vilnis Vītoliņš, and Armands Zelčs.

During the Liepāja Art Forum, the public area of the concert hall will also host The Fourth Wave by Ieva Rubeze from Liepāja.

INFORMATION FOR ATTENDEES OF THE EXHIBITION AND OPENING EVENT:

Each attendee of the exhibition opening on September 24 at 5 p.m. will have to present a Covid-19 certificate at the entrance, confirming vaccination or recovery. We will also ask you to present personal identification. Face masks will not be mandatory at the opening event. The aforementioned requirements also apply to children and minors.

Starting from September 25, the exhibition can be viewed by anyone with observation of a 2 m distance and wearing a face mask.
