21th International Ballet Festival. Ballet Stars in Jūrmala

Visitors of Jurmala Festival concerts will be required to present an interoperable certificate of vaccination or recovery from Covid-19, as well as personal ID. The rules also apply to children.

The International Ballet Festival in Jurmala will gather outstanding ballet stars from around the world and Latvia for the 21st time, delighting with the most beautiful episodes from classical ballets and performances staged by Latvian choreographers. Leading soloists of the Hamburg Ballet, Anna Laudere and Edvin Revazov, will dance episodes from the world-famous choreographer John Neumeier’s latest performance “Ghost light” with music by Franz Schubert and a duet from the tragic love story of the ballet “Lady of the Camellias”. Viewers will have the opportunity to see fragments of the new staging of the Latvian National Ballet “2 metres”, which is both a serious and humorous reaction to the artist’s internal emotional experiences during the pandemic.

The audience-favoured soloists of the Latvian National Ballet will perform in scenes from the ballets “Solo repeat” and “Tikko” created by Elza Leimane, the colourful fairy tale ballet “Coppelia” by Léo Delibes, and Marco Geke’s “Firebird”.
