Dvořák 9th sypmhony

We offer to watch a live recording made in Liepāja Concert Hall THE GREAT AMBER on March 12, 2021.

In this concert you will get acquainted with the 9th SYMPHONY “From the New World” by the great Czech ANTONIN DVOŘÁK, inspired by American folklore. Maestro GINTARS RINKEVIČS will join the conductor of the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra. " Dvořák has created one of the most beautiful works in symphonic music. This is the 9th symphony. He himself believed that the first four symphonies were not valuable, he even burned one of the symphonies. He was very demanding of himself. Dvořák’s music, which I know, is brilliant work”, the conductor does not hide.

‘’Antonín Dvořák's Ninth Symphony is a symbol of hope and enthusiasm that brings to the field of symphonic music the aura of New Continent romanticism known in the literature from James Fenimor Cooper's novels The Last Mohican and The Beast, after Goyko Mitchich's films about Chingachgook. Appalachian folk melodies, jazz music allusions in a masterful symphonic fabric bring us to the passion that permeated America's gorgeously wild dawn. This symphony was created for the passionate maestro Rinkevičs and the emotionally powerful Liepaja Symphony Orchestra. An unforgettable adventure is coming”! says Uldis Lipskis, the leader of the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra.

This time they are the conductor and teacher Ilze Balode, as well as the musician Tabita Balode.
