SATORI POETRY DISCO. BOHEMIAN FEAST

The word ‘disco’ does not appear in texts by the poet Rainis, but ‘feast’, however, is used over 30 times. For example, in his play The Little Raven, the Other says: “We need a song for the feast, New songs we knew.” The Other also agrees: “Bring out new dances, Pour out new wines.” And, in Fire and Night, Lāčplēsis says: “Who is that still moaning there? Call those who still wait to the feast!”

Satori publisher Antonija Skopa adds: “Each true poets’ party comes to a point where people go wild, start jumping ecstatically or performing complex choreographic figures while fighting for their place by the computer to play some song on YouTube that everybody must hear right this second, and I must say almost with no exaggeration that this is reason enough to participate in a poets’ party.” Poetry will be read and music will be played by Aivars Madris, Raimonds Ķirķis, Kirils Ēcis, Marija Luīze Meļķe, Lote Vilma Vītiņa, Anna Belkovska, Artis Ostups and Henriks Eliass Zēgners.
