The Ukrainian musicians, father and son – vibraphonist Andrei Pushkarev and the young pianist Nikolai Pushkarev ‒ have created a new solo programme which will see its world premiere right here, in Cēsis.

Playing percussion for the Kremerata Baltica Orchestra almost since its inception, Andrei Pushkarev has performed with Gidon Kremer in many European, Asian and American cities. He has worked with world-renowned musicians like Yo-Yo Ma, Martha Argerich, Vadim Repin, Didier Lockwood, Mario Brunello, David Friedman and others. A virtuoso vibraphonist, Pushkarev regularly gives solo recitals, writes arrangements and original music for this instrument.

Andrei Pushkarev is appearing in Cēsis with his son, Nikolai. The young pianist has been performing on stage since the age of 10 and has won prizes at several international competitions. Nikolai Pushkarev is currently a student at the Cleveland Institute of Music in USA.
