Brazilian Jazz Legends Flora Purim and Airto Moreira

CONCERT POSTPONED TO 13 OCTOBER

The concert that was supposed to take place on 28 April at Hanzas Perons concert venue in Riga featuring Brazilian jazz legends – singer Flora Purim and percussionist Airto Moreira – is postponed to 13 October.

Given the general restrictions introduced in Latvia and in the world, the artists are postponing their spring concerts to autumn, therefore the concert planned on 28 April in Riga is postponed to 13 October. The concert shall take place under the Baltics’ biggest jazz festival “Jazzkaar 2020” that is also postponed from April to early October.

The artists cannot wait to finally meet their audience in Latvia for the first time. All tickets will be valid for the autumn concert.

Brazilian jazz legends – singer Flora Purim and percussionist Airto Moreira – have been performing with jazz music icons like Miles Davis, Gil Evans, Chic Corea and others.

Bosanova and samba rhythms, colorful palette of tunes, virtuoso performance that lifts you a foot above the ground – that’s what one could say having seen the concert by Flora Purim and Airto Moreira. They are one of the world’s best known Brazilian jazz musicians.

As a duo, Flora and Airto have issued 30 albums, and after 14-year break in their creative career they resumed giving concerts.

The new concert programme will consists of new pieces from the upcoming album Flora Brasileira, some jazz classics, some improvisations and spiritual journey.
