Gustav Maler “The Song of the Earth”

Leonard Bernstein called the monumental opus “The Song of the Earth” by Gustav Mahler his most outstanding symphony. The extensive contemplation of two soloists and orchestras in six parts about the inevitability of the brevity and mortality of life in the thrilling finale, will take us to the gates of eternity as is only done by the greatest achievements of mankind. The soloists of this outstanding piece will be the internationally acclaimed Latvian mezzo-soprano, soloist of the Frankfurt Opera Zanda Švēde and the world-famous Latvian tenor Aleksandr Antonenko, who has sung more than 30 roles in the world’s most prestigious opera houses. Andris Poga, the Chief Conductor of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, will take the lead.

Visitors of Jurmala Festival concerts will be required to present an interoperable certificate of vaccination or recovery from Covid-19, as well as personal ID. The rules also apply to children.

“Jurmala Festival” takes place thanks to the support of Jurmala City.
