The demanded tenor Aleksandrs Antoņenko and the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra lead by its chief conductor Gintaras Rinkevičius will close the International Stars Festival 2021 with a monumental programme of popular opera music.
Aleksandrs Antoņenko will impersonate Antiņš in the famous aria from Žilinskis’ opera “Zelta zirgs”, become the tragically passionate Othello and the passion obsessed Herman. He will also be the tall mystic Lohengrin, the jealous director of the touring theatre Canio, and the love-struck Federico from Cilea’s “L'Arlesiana”. But all this heat will end with Lehár’s wonderful song “Dein ist mein ganzes Herz” from the operetta “Land of Smiles”.
The concert will be opened by the Orchestra’s solo—the sparkling overture from Rossini’s opera “William Tell”, there will also be the beautiful intermedio from Massenet’s opera “Thais”, the uplifting introduction to the III act of Wagner’s opera “Lohengrin”, and instrumental fragments from Tchaikovsky and Leoncavallo’s operas.
