Club des Belugas (Germany/USA)
On 11 August, first time in Latvia listeners will have a unique chance to hear one of the world’s leading Nujazz bands Club des Belugas (Germany/USA). The band has already conquered multimillion audience’s hearts with their splendid genre cocktails, in which Brazilian Beats, European Lounge, Electro Swing and American Black Soul are merged together. The diversity and original sound of the band also depends on constantly changing musicians’ team – Club des Belugas is regularly collaborating with the brightest European and American jazz singers.
The band was founded in 2002, and one year later, its compositions became number 1 of the German Charts, and concert halls were overbooked. Since then, the band’s creative baggage includes nine studio albums, two nominations for Spanish Jazz Awards; their music has played in the movies, TV shows and various advertisements – among them there areMercedes-Benz, BMW, Lexus, Martini, Samsung, LG Electronics, Victoria's Secret, and many others famous brands.
The Inessa Galante Foundation’s team was dreaming to see those contemporary jazz coryphées in the festival for a long time – and finally this summer the dream will come true! To Jurmala the band is coming as a sextet, which includes a legendary jazz singer with outstanding vocal range and powerful charisma – Brenda Boykin, born in California.
