OSOKINA BRĪVĪBAS FESTIVĀLS UKRAINAI 2024

OSOKINS' FREEDOM FESTIVAL FOR UKRAINE 2024

From 5 April to 12 May, the 5th Osokins’ Freedom Festival will take place in Riga and elsewhere in Latvia. For the third year, the Festival will be dedicated to Ukraine and its people, demonstrating unwavering support and solidarity with its people in the defence of freedom and democracy.

This year, the proceeds from the tickets for the Festival events and funds raised through a special campaign on Ziedot.lv will be used to purchase acutely needed items for soldiers and civilians at the front, with a special focus on Ukrainian children, as well as for the first time to support parents of seriously ill children in Latvia. The parents of children in need will be provided with the necessary medical assistance and trained nannies to ease their emotionally and physically demanding daily lives. A number of Ukrainian asylum seekers in Latvia and parents of seriously ill children will be able to attend the Festival events free of charge.

The Festival and its side events will take place over two months, bringing together Latvian, Ukrainian and international artists and professionals from various fields for a colourful and diverse programme of concerts, masterclasses, documentary films, discussion days and other events.

The Festival programme, which will include academic and non-academic music, works by renowned classical composers and premieres, will deeply integrate Ukrainian themes and artistic values. The Festival events will feature both Ukrainian artists who have found refuge in Latvia and those specially invited to the Festival from Ukraine. Children from war-affected areas in Ukraine will be a major focus.

The camp is organised in cooperation with the Embassy of Ukraine in Latvia and the association "Activists".
